Inconsequential but regretful all the same....

So I have done some thing inconsequential, but regretful at the same time......

(Non-spoiler alert: this paragraph has little to do with what I did....)
I am going to start doing the bookwork for my Mom and Dad's Sport Clips stores in Amarillo. My first official task was getting payroll figured out and organized. With a couple of quick fixes, my mom said it looked great so I was going to submit it. I decided to be all official and create a seperate email address for all Sport Clips business.

So, I tried to create an address that would piggyback the one that I use for my google calendar and this blog....to no avail. I ended up creating a totally separate email (I blame it on gmail's help directions, which did not help! I would like to let them know, but I don't know how.....and if I use the help feature, it might not help.....).

Since my "business" email was totally separate, I decided to combine the 2 google accounts I previously had into one, so at least my calendar and blog would be in the same place. (Success here with google help....gotta give them a little credit.) In the process I also learned that I could delete any unused accounts. Thus, I deleted the one I wasn't going to use...

(Drumroll please)
IT DELETED ALL OF THE PICTURES FROM MY BLOG! You see, all of the pictures were associated with my old account, so apparently even though its the same blog, when the administrator that posts the pics leaves the blog, it deletes all the pictures they posted!!!! Ugh! Arrgh! (and other pirate-y words) (sigh)

Now, I know you still see a couple of pics on the kitchen post, but I just re-uploaded those today. I grew weary of redoing what had already been done, and quit. (sigh) Guess that will hit the bottom of the to-do list for the day when I wonder, "What should I do today???" (sigh)

Here's the baby: (That's exactly how I feel about this whole thing, Ben!)

And this is how I feel about the silly techno-garble rule that says when whoever posts the pics leaves the blog, the pics go too....

(P.S. ---I LOVE these boys! <3<3<3)

PPS - The oldest little sweetie pictured above took a test at school to see how many letters he could recognize. He got them ALL! Didn't miss a single one out of 54! (Uppercase, lowercase, along with this "a" and this "g"). So we celebrated tonight by cooking hot dogs and marshmallows for s'mores over our firepit in the backyard (his choice - even over ice cream). Did I mention that I love him?

PPPS - The youngest little boy pictured above is now rolling over both ways and is increasingly mobile.....Let the fun begin! (Speaking of, he is ready for his last "meal" of the day....no more "pps"-ing).

PPPPS=post, post, post, postscript - just thought you should know...

Kitchen Redo DONE! (and blog redone too!)

I'm proud to say that our kitchen redo is finally done! David "got" me this for Valentines Day. He asked our benevolent landlord if she would purchase the materials and we would provide the labor to repaint the kitchen. She, obviously, said yes, and we began the process the second weekend of February. (I told David: "This may be free, but it's not coming cheap!") Here are before pics....

If you will please take note of the wallpapered soffit above the cabinets....little did we know it would be our nemesis... We tried many methods of wallpaper removal.....the ultimate answer is...removing wallpaper is HARD!!!!! (and messy!)
After wallpaper removal, comes texturing and painting of the soffit.

Begin work on the cabinets: Remove doors, remove hardware (and hope the screws are not stripped - but that's another story....),and sand. Fill holes with wood filler and make it s~m~o~o~t~h..

Add 2 coats of paint/primer combo in a lovely color like Swiss Coffee (it even sounds lovely).

Coat #1...

Add new hardware and start rehanging doors.....oops! The new hinges are barely bigger than the old ones, so it was a job for Dad. We had to enlist the help of my Dad with a hammer and chisel to make room on the inset doors for the new hinges. NOW try hanging again....

Kitchen pics after:

(Side note: amidst much distress of constantly dropping screws and struggling to twist wires together - hang a new light fixture over the sink...)

Alas! The kitchen is finished!!!!
